Happy Holidays!!!!!

Sadly, this is my last post. Yesterday was my last day at work. Its amazing how time went by so fast, but I am glad with the time I spent at Evergreen. I cherish every moment I worked there. I learned a lot and I hope will continue learning more when I work there again next semester!

Happy Holidays!

Hey everyone! I'm sure you've all been quite busy with finals this week as I surely have. Last week I only worked once and I won't be working until Jan term to finish up the rest of my hours. I worked last Friday and it was a really good day. We had quite a bit of sales, people were buying lots of scarves and presents for Christmas season. I love the atmosphere for this time of year because everything just seems so cozy! Our store won second place in the window display contest which was kind of fun. We currently have a lot of scarves ( that have been going by really fast) and warm winter jackets and hats. I've definitely had a fun time working at this store so far and look forward to finishing up my hours over Jan term. I hope everyone has a wonderful break! :)

Vista Hills

Things are finally winding down out at the vineyard.  The fruit has been picked and has been sent out to the winemakers who are working on making it into wine!  With the fields empty the tasting room is growing quieter and quieter as well with the change of weather.  We had holiday events the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving, which is always a big time for vineyards in the Dundee hills.  I worked the event all day Saturday pouring and selling wine.  Vista Hills did very well bringing in their highest numbers since they started holding the event!  I had a great experience meeting and talking with people from all over.
This last weekend all the interns went out to help construct holiday gift boxes to send out.  We are moving into the quiet season at the vineyard.  Winter is more of a time to catch up on the books and package all the club members shipments.  Talk of upcoming work is mostly going to be in the storage room packaging and learning about shipments and the books.  Even though it is not as exciting work I am still excited for the experience.

This week while interning I met a nice elderly man, I know I've never met him before but it was as if we had. It seemed as if we connected. While taking in his lunch tray, he asked me how my day was going? He told me his day was better then yesterday and he felt today something good was going to happen. We chatted for awhile. To me, it is those types of interaction that make what I am trying to become after college worth all the hard work.
