This week, I worked my regular 3 days and got to work with another woman during one of my Medical/Surgical department shift. She is a substitute teacher for grades k-12 and works only one time a week. It was really nice working with someone else while we helped with the patients and such. I got to talking to one of the patients about ebooks on her kindle. She asked if I ever read my textbooks on a kindle. I told her that some of my books are available, but not a lot of them, so usually no. I also got to see a ultrasound of a 30 week old pregnant women. I was able to find the heart beat which was really cool!

This week, there was a session in which all the volunteers went to inorder to refresh themselves on their tasks in each division. I learned quite a few things that I was not trained to do in the begining of my volunteering. I was able to do these things during my session this week as well. There has been a few new whiteboards in the Emergency Department to which the markers must be earsed that say, Doctor and not Nurse. The doctors switch from room to room, but the nurses always stay the same to their assigned 4 rooms. This week was a learning time for me.

This week I worked three times, once in the ER and twice in the medical/surgical department. I am now working 11 hours per week. The hospital seems to be getting busier and busier everytime I go. I am not sure that its a good thing for the people but its a good thing for me becuase more patients means more interaction and patient care I get. I got asked from an older gentle men if I would like to do the crossword puzzle with him in the newspaper. However, I am no good with those, so I told him ill play Soduko which is in the newspaper as well.
